– White area with corner, 2 walls and floor painted white.
– Black area. Wall and floor black. Covered in a roll out black carpet that produces light absorbing black backgrounds.
– Distressed wooden wall. Bare studs and wooden wall for an industrial background
– Raw concrete wall and floor.
– Wooden floor that can be moved around the studio.

A new addition to the studio is a rail mounted background systems allow various backdrops to be moved on and off stage. These hang from the rafters and can be easily moved out of the way.

Current backgrounds include:
– Corrugated gun-metal grey background.
– Faux brick wall.

– Red curtains over multi colored patterned fabric.
– Dark green fabric background.

You could just open the car ramp door and shoot there.

You can open the back door and shoot in front of the window there.

Or open the front door, put the model on the front steps and create some of the best headshots anywhere in Houston.

Here are examples.

Full bath with large mirrored make-up area, shower, basin and toilet.
Private changing room for models and clients with full length mirrors, and clothing rack.
Full size rollup door and car ramp allows bringing in very large props.
High ceilings, approximately 16′ at the sides curving to approximately 28′ at the center.
Roll up door in back covers a faux wall with large paned windows for abundant natural light.

Three members of the HSS team are available for personal instruction. You can request a topic or series of topics and we’ll match you up with the right expertise for the shoot.

We can arrange makeup artists, models, stylists, and other team members as well. The studio has lots of shooting opportunities or we can take you to many of our favorite locations around the Houston area – most within 5 minutes of the studio.

Give us a topic and we’ll put together a learning experience for you. Each request is a custom class and therefore quoted individually. Write us for suggested topics we have done as private instruction or send us your list of areas you’d like to pursue.

We love to have groups of photographers in the studio. If you have a group that would like to have a program or workshop, we would be pleased to put together something for you.

Perhaps it’s a group from your day job that wants to share a great photographic experience.

Maybe it’s a group of photographers that would like to split expenses.

We can do everything from provide a space to adding a model/makeup team to having a workshop on any topic you desire. You can arrange full and half days.
